Vintage 1960s Demicouture Sequin Top
Vintage 1960s Demicouture Sequin Top
The sequins on this vintage embellished top are beyond stunning. What you see here is actually couture-level craftsmanship. Made in the 1960s by designer Pierre Renaud exclusively for Sakowitz Salon, the storied Houston luxury-boutique-turned-department store, known in the mid-twentieth century for carrying the best designer selection in the area. It's made of mesh, covered completely in sequins of the most incredible quality. They are black, transparent, and silver, but their iridescence reflects light, and gives off a blue-ish glow in some lighting. The hem is hand-finished; it's immediately apparent how well-made this piece is, and you won't find a modern one like it. The Vintage Carolina Herrera Silk Organza Ballskirt pictured is also available.
