1940s Articulated Marquise-Cut Stud Earrings
1940s Articulated Marquise-Cut Stud Earrings
These vintage 1940s marquise diamanté studs are a timeless addition to your wardrobe. They feature an perfectly faceted marquise-cut stone, in a halo of smaller accent stones. They are crafted with handmade construction techniques which today are reserved for fine jewelry— the earring is articulated and moves freely. (Think of how a strand of a necklace would be flexible and curve with the shape it touches— that's how the little drops move.) They fasten with a screw-back closure and are remarkably comfortable; vintage clip-ons are so much more comfortable and secure to wear compared to their modern counterparts, largely due to the quality and thought that went into their hand-made construction. They are very easy to layer with other jewelry and accessories, and I love this earring stacked with others, as shown— the closure makes it easy (and comfortable) to wear higher on the ear in addition to the lobe, because the screw back is adjustable in tightness. They measure 23 mm in length x 12 mm at widest point. They are not signed, but attributed to the jeweler Weiss.
