Vintage Austrian Silver Pendnat
Vintage Austrian Silver Pendnat
The statement necklace is back in a big way, but this vintage double-sided silver pendant is a piece you'll wear forever. A bit of history: This pendant depicts Maria Theresa on one side. Maria Theresa was the ruler of Austria, Hungary, Croatia, Bohemia, Transylvania, Mantua, Milan, Lodomeria and Galicia, the Austrian Netherlands, and Parma from 1740, until her death in 1780, which is the date emblazoned on this pendant. Around the edge of both sides is inscribed an abbreviation for: "Maria Theresa, by the grace of God, Empress of the Romans, Queen of Hungary and Bohemia, Archduchess of Austria, Duchess of Burgundy, Countess of Tyrol. 1780," followed by a Burgundian cross. The pendant is .833 parts silver and .166 parts copper. It's in pristine condition, but any tarnishing you see is not damage and can always be cleaned with a silver polish. I enjoy this piece with a bit of wear to it, to enhance its antique appeal. Note that the chain is not included with this piece, but it can be worn on any chain or cord. Measures 1 5/8" diameter.
Excellent antique condition. With any questions about the specific condition or size, please email shop@verybreezy.com for additional photos or measurements, as all sales are final.
