This vintage 1980s drop waist dress is the perfect combination of casual effortlessness and touches of evening glamour. It's crafted of cotton pique fabric, which is more commonly found in daywear, but it's dressed up with crystal embellishment at the neckline— this allows it to be dressed up or down, and worn a number of ways, depending on how you style it. The black cotton fabric also makes it a year-round option, suitable for warm weather and winter alike. It was made in the 1980s by designer Jan Barboglio; Today, Barboglio is known for her sculptural home furnishings, but she started her career in the 1980s in the world of fashion, creating a line of bestselling clothing for Saks, Neiman Marcus, and Bergdorf Goodman. The drop waist bodice is boned like a corset, creating a flattering hourglass shape. The foldover detail at the neckline creates an abstract bow shape, which is emphasized by the embellishment. Made in the USA of a cotton blend.
