Made in France in the 1980s, this vintage Zoe Coste gold multi-chain necklace feels exceptionally modern, a testament to its timeless appeal. With a stack of chains using four distinct techniques (including curb chain, rope chain, Cuban chain, and bead chain) it gives the impression of multiple pieces deftly layered together— without the work! Zoe Coste was a costume jeweler who started her business in France in the 1970s, and later moved to the US. She was known for her incredible quality costume jewelry, crafting pieces with fine jewelry techniques, and is credited with really making high-end costume jewelry boom in the 1980s. The necklace has a really significant weight to it, and you can tell its amazingly well-constructed. It's finished with a box clasp in the back; signed ZOE COSTE. The shortest layer measures about 17" long, and the longest chain measures about 23-23.25" long.
