This vintage wool blazer dress was made in Italy in the 1980s, by Mariella Burani, an Italian luxury goods label founded in the 1960s. It is constructed of the coolest trompe l'oeil design, with shirtdress as the base, and an attached jacket layer in the front, that looks like a jacket layered over a dress. The burgundy wool blend has a silky feeling, and I love the sequin embellishment— it looks so luxe, and the scattering is reminiscent of stars falling in the sky. There are slight shoulder pads to round out the look. Closes down the front with buttons, which are covered by the placket.
Measurements: Shown unpinned on a size X-Small and it is oversized but could work, will be more fitted on closer to a Medium or Small, but pleases refer to below measurements to be sure. Marked a French size 38, which is equivalent to a US 6 today (although on the label it says equivalent to a US 8 but vintage sizing is smaller).
