This skirt is an amazing statement piece— I love it as an unexpected alternative to a gown for a formal or black tie event. This piece still has its original tags and was never worn. It's from a recent Michael Kors Collection, with an original retail of $1700. I love the use of menswear-inspired stripes, and the juxtaposition of this pattern with the ultra-feminine, Edwardian-inspired bustle. The skirt has a narrow column shape in the front, and an incredibly intricate bustle mechanism in the back, held in place by multiple snaps. There is a slight train in the back, but it's mostly volume rather than length. The construction here is seriously couture-level. Made in Italy of 100% silk.
