This stick pin, featuring a crescent moon and star made of Bohemian Garnet, dates to the Victorian era. Crescent moons were incredibly important symbols in Victorian jewelry. In ancient times, crescent moons celebrated the moon goddess, and have forever been associated with divine femininity. For the Victorians, the crescent moon represented changes, and the seasons of one's life. It was typical for Victorian brides to wear a crescent moon brooch, known as a "honeymoon brooch." I love the idea of wearing this in the hair (see video below) but it could also be tucked into a garment. Measures 6.5 cm total.
