This vintage 1930s bias-cut velvet dress is an absolutely stunning example of 1930s fashion. It is becoming increasingly (very) rare to find these 1930s dresses in this beautiful, wearable condition. It is crafted from pure silk velvet (they really don't make velvet like they used to!) with stunning lace insertion at the neckline. The lace itself is so ethereal, it almost doesn't seem real! It is cut on the bias to not only hug the body in the most flattering way but to also give that natural flutter to the skirt, which is further emphasized by panels in the skirt, for a beautiful, full sweep. The dress was designed to be worn with the matching bolero, with just a bit of the lace peeking out from under, but these pieces can be mixed and matched separately as well. It also comes with a matching belt, with an ornate jeweled closure; it can easily be worn without the belt as well. Similarly, the bolero has a cross front with hidden snaps, and a large unique button detail in a very Art Deco style.

Measurements: Note that the bias-cut allows for natural stretch, so the dress will contract and expand with the body a bit. Will likely fit a size X-Small and Small but please refer to below measurements to be sure.

Dress:

Shoulders: 13.5" between actual shoulder seams (actual shoulders do extend a bit further)

Chest: 32" laid flat, with some additional give

Waist: about 29"-32" (see above notes on cut)

Hips are open up to about 43"

Length: about 52" from shoulder to hem

Belt: 29" (it can very easily be taken in and made smaller)

Bolero:

Shoulder: about 14.25"

Chest: 38" laid flat (extra room due to deep V-neck)

Waist: 34"

Good vintage condition, with general wear commensurate with age, but note that this dress is in gorgeous condition considering it is nearly 100 years old. There have been some repairs made to the fabric, mainly of the bolero, which disappear into the fabric/gathering and are not noticeable when worn. Some stones are missing from the belt. Other general minor wear commensurate with age is present, but it is not flagrant and these pieces present beautifully. With any questions about the specific condition or size, please email shop@verybreezy.com for additional photos or measurements, as all sales are final.
