Vintage 1940s Duchesse Satin Princess Cut Wedding Dress With Court Train And Eyelet Cutout Beadwork
Vintage 1940s Duchesse Satin Princess Cut Wedding Dress With Court Train And Eyelet Cutout Beadwork
This stunning vintage 1940s wedding gown is so elegant. It is crafted of the richest duchesse satin, with eyelet cutouts at the neckline, emphasized by beadwork. All of this work is done by hand which is really remarkable— it was custom made and is completely one-of-a-kind. The princess-cut bodice is fitted, with a basque waist shape, emphasized by piping at the seams. Note the shape of the skirt— a flat panel runs down the center, with pleating only starting at the side waist, which adds fullness while still creating a flattering, nipped-waist look. Functional pearl buttons line the back, and the pointed-cuffs.
Great vintage condition overall, with some signs of wear commensurate with age, none of which detract from the dress's beauty. There is some scuffing to the fabric in places, and minor discoloration at the back of one shoulder (It's more like a watermark, not a "stain," so it's not noticeable depending on the angle/lighting.) With any questions about the specific condition or size, please email shop@verybreezy.com for additional photos or measurements, as all sales are final.
