Vintage 1940s Trifari Gold Scroll Choker
Vintage 1940s Trifari Gold Scroll Choker
Made by Trifari in the 1940s, this gold choker necklace features a unique scrolling motif. Trifari was of the most prolific US designers of costume jewelr during the 20th century. What sets Trifari apart from other costume jewelry is the quality, bringing a level of craftsmanship to costume jewelry that is usually reserved for fine jewelry— which is why these styles are so highly collectible to this day. These techniques can be attributed to Alfred Philippe, Trifari's designer from 1930-1968, who was already famous for developing an invisible stone setting for Van Cleef & Arpels. I love that this necklace sits at the perfect true choker length, and very nice to layer with other chains and jewelry. It closes in the back with a foldover clasp, and measures just shy of 15" long. Signed TRIFARI and "patent pending" as they were patenting their jewelry designs during this era. The Vintage Gold Snake Chain Choker pictured is also available.
Great vintage condition, with some minor surface wear commensurate with its age, and this patina just contributes to its vintage charm, as opposed to detracting from its beauty.
