This vintage 1950s dress exudes midcentury tropical glamour, from the halter neckline to the batik-style print. The cotton fabric is crisp and lovely, and makes this a suitable option for day or night, printed in a subtle batik print. The bodice is fully boned, snatching the body in like a corset. The halter neck can be worn numerous ways: the long ties overlap with the chest and cross in a loop in the center of the chest, to form the V halter shape; you could also opt to not cross them in the front over the chest, and wear in a more traditional halter around the neck. The skirt gives the illusion of a sarong-style wrap skirt, with a flounce coming down from the waistline. There is a zip closure down the back; note that the original zipper has been replaced with a more modern zipper.
Measurements: This fits like a modern size Medium, possibly a Large (note that there is a boned corset interior that is really meant to fit closely and hold you in!) - Please refer to below measurements to be sure.
Chest: 36.5" laid flat (much more room because of corset bodice)
Waist: 30" (up to about 31.5" pulled taut)
Hips: 44.5" laid flat (extra room because of the wrap overlay of the skirt)
Length: 40.5 from top of neckline to hem
