Made in the 1950s, these vintage diamanté earclips have a regal feeling, thanks to their crown-like design. They are hallmarked with the patent #2583988, which references their innovative clasp. This particular patented clasp was often used in Schiaparelli jewelry (it's not too common). The earrings are not signed but I have seen VERY similar Schiaparelli earrings from this era, so between the design similarities, the consistency of the stones used, and the unique patented clasp, I wouldn't be surprised if these earrings are actually indeed Schiaparelli. They feature stones ini a variety of cuts and sizes. They are finished with a clip-on lever back and are SO comfortable to wear and lightweight on the ear; vintage clip-ons are so much more comfortable and secure to wear compared to their modern counterparts, largely due to the quality and thought that went into their hand-made construction. They are hallmarked with patent #2583988, a 1949 design patent awarded to this specific lever back for its unique ability to remain secure on the ear, without pinching, thereby ensuring hours of comfort. Measures about 42 mm long x 20 mm at widest point.
