This chain mesh bag was made by iconic American brand Whiting & Davis in the late 1940s or early 1950s. Whiting and Davis is well-known for their expertise with mesh, making hard metals feel and look like diaphanous fabric— think about the slinky mesh tops and dresses popular during the disco era. This bag is highly collectable and timeless, and I love how it also touches on the current "micro bag" trend. (Sometimes, all you need is a lipstick.) I love the idea of attaching this to a chain as well. It can also be used as a change purse or a cigarette case. It has an ornate die-cute frame, with a kiss lock closure, and is lined on the interior. Made in the USA and measures 3" high x 3.5" wide at bottom.
