Vintage 1960s Embroidered Silk Organza Gown with Floral Appliqué

This absolutely divine, one-of-a-kind vintage 1960s gown is crafted of trompe-l'œil silk organza that has been embroidered all over to look like lace. The effect is just incredible— it almost looks like a white lace overlay, when in reality, and the embroidery is negative space. It was custom-made in the 1960s for a socialite of European nobility, who was prominent in both New York and European circles, and had an important collection of fashion and jewelry, including this dress! Scattered across the embroidered organza are black organza flower details throughout, with denser clusters at the neckline and cuffs of the 3/4 bell sleeves. At the bodice is a single larger sculptural red floral detail, with three-dimensional yellow stamen details at the center. It is fitted through the bodice, with gathering at the chest, and a waistband at the empire waist, remaining fitted through the natural waist with shaping seams, giving way to an A-line skirt. This dress is bra-friendly; it has "bra-holder" straps at the shoulder, which snap to hold a bra strap in place, so that it's not slipping out/becoming visible at the neckline. This is just one of many thoughtful construction elements that make this dress so luxurious and special— there are also protectors at the underarm's interior to prevent discoloration from perspiration. It closes with a zipper down the back.

Measurements: Note that there is excess fabric inside the dress that make it very easy to let out and make larger. Likewise, it could be very easily taken in using these same existing seams. As-is, it will fit a size Small/Medium, though it could be let out to fit a significantly larger size. It is shown clipped on a size X-Small to simulate proper fit.
