Vintage 1960s Malcolm Starr Beaded Silk Gown with Tassel Details

This incredible vintage 1960s Malcolm Starr beaded silk gown draws inspiration from Victorian mourning dress, with its tonal black beaded details, including a beaded tassel detail at the empire waist. It's crafted of silk duchesse satin fabric, with a slight slub to it— the silk is so soft and feels so rich, even more so in person. The beading is done on a web of cording, which is placed as an overlay at the neckline and empire waistline. The way it's done really gives it that gothic, Victorian feeling, as do the inclusion of tassels oversized stones, reminiscent of the jet stones the Victorians favored. This gown is so beautifully constructed! It is fitted at the chest, with a true empire waist, and a column skirt that falls with a slight A-line. This dress is bra-friendly; it has "bra-holder" straps at the shoulder, which snap to hold a bra strap in place, so that it's not slipping out/becoming visible at the neckline. This is just one of many thoughtful construction elements that make this dress so luxurious and special. It closes with a side metal zipper and hidden hooks at the shoulder.

Measurements: This fits like a size Medium, or possibly a Small; please refer to below measurements to be sure. It is shown on a size X-Small, slightly clipped to simulate proper fit, but it is too large and thus looks oversized.
