This vintage 1960s Malcolm Start velvet dress and jacket set is so classic and sophisticated. Malcolm Starr was an American designer known for his glamorous evening-wear, which was especially popular in the 1960s. The dress has a very 1960s sleek A-line shape, fitted through the chest on top. The jacket has a fitted, cropped shape. The silk velvet feels so lush, and is trimmed with grosgrain, creating a play on texture, and metallic passementerie, set with large round crystal embellishment. I love the placement of the pockets on the dress— vertical slits in the front seams.
