This iconic vintage Pierre Cardin mod coat is one of the finest examples of Pierre Cardin’s signature Space Age fashion from the 1960s. Cardin began his career at houses like Schiaparelli and Christian Dior in the 1940s, and went on to start his own label in 1950. He went on to essentially invent the wholly innovative “mod” and “Space Age” looks that defined the mid-1960s. This coat epitomizes that look. It has a very mod A-line cut, with topstitching creating a defined look that exaggerates the lines, particularly around the oval pockets, exaggerated collar, and cuffs. It is crafted of wool in a gorgeous fire-orange color that looks even better in person.
Sizing: This will work best for petite proportions (less suited for a taller person) and a size X-Small/Small. It is shot on someone 5'7" and is not hitting correctly due to height/proportions.
Shoulders: 14" between shoulder seams
Chest: 34"
Sleeves: 21.25"
Length: 36.5" from shoulder to hem.
Good vintage condition overall, with some wear commensurate with age. There are some areas of wear to the wool throughout, each blemish being very small (a few milimeters), but it doesn't detract from the overall beauty or wearability of this iconic piece.
