Vintage 1970s Graphic Floral Maxidress with Eyelet Trim

Circa early 1970s, this vintage maxidress is made with a lightweight cotton fabric with a very fun graphic print, consisting of vines of pink florals over a green-and-white striped background. Sourced in Europe, I love the eyelet details, which include beautiful trim on the bodice, at the neckline/sleeves, and running vertically like pintucks, as well as a little peplum-like flounce at the waist. The shape is borrowing a bit from 1930s dresses, which I adore. The bodice is fitted, with puff sleeves and a square neckline. Like in 1930s fashion, the skirt features godets towards the hem, which are extra panels worked into the skirt to give it that sort of mermaid shape, widening towards the hem, with beautiful sweep and movement. This shape is highlighted by additional eyelet trim at the seams. The skirt is lined, and all of the fabric is a really lightweight and breathable cotton, making it comfortable in hot summer months, It closes with a zipper down the center back.
