Vintage 1970s Silk Gown with Foil-Printed Metallic Details, Custom Made

This one-of-a-kind vintage silk gown was custom-made in the 1970s for a socialite of European nobility, who was prominent in both New York and European circles, and had an important collection of fashion and jewelry, including this dress! The quality is truly incredible, with hand-finished details and thoughtful construction. It's crafted of rich sapphire blue silk, with panels of foil-printed metallic print. The metallic reads as ambiguous (more gold but reads kind of silver in certain light), so it really easily pairs with either gold or silver accessories. It is fitted through the bodice, with gathering at the chest, and a yoke waist that really cinches the waist and creates a flattering hourglass shape. The skirt extends in a straight column shape. This dress is bra-friendly; it has "bra-holder" straps at the shoulder, which snap to hold a bra strap in place, so that it's not slipping out/becoming visible at the neckline. This is just one of many thoughtful construction elements that make this dress so luxurious and special— there are also protectors at the underarm's interior to prevent discoloration from perspiration. It closes with a zipper down the back.

Measurements: Note that there is excess fabric inside the dress that make it very easy to let out and make larger. Likewise, it could be very easily taken in using these same existing seams. As-is, it will fit up to a size Medium, though it could be let out to fit up to a Large or larger. It is shown clipped on a size X-Small to simulate proper fit.

Shoulders: 16.25" between shoulder seams, 16.75" with some give
Chest: 38" laid flat, up to 43" considering all the gathering at the chest (this is designed to be worn with a bra, can also be taken in easily)
Empire waist/underbust: 29.5" laid flat, up to 30" pulled taut
Waist: 28.5" laid flat, up to 29" pulled taut
