This vintage 1980s peplum jacket set has a matching skirt for a chic skirt suit. There is no label but it feels like exactly what the high-end French labels (Thierry Mugler, Valentino, Yves Saint Laurent, etc.) were doing at this time. I love the black cotton damask fabric, with a subtle tonal "print" created by the weave of the fabric. It adds depth while remaining neutral as can be. The jacket has a surplice V-neckline, crossing at the waist. The waistband has hidden elastic for the perfect fit, and a matching belt sits on top. The ruffle peplum adds an element of romance. The skirt is a classic, high-waist pencil skirt silhouette. I love that these pieces can also be mixed and matched, and worn separately, for so many different looks in one set. Fiber contents are not listed but feels like a cotton/cotton blend.
