This incredible vintage Ciner necklace features pate de verre that remarkably resemble genuine rubies. Pate de verre is a jewelry process in which glass is ground down to fine particles and recombined with a binding substance, resulting in what appears to be a fine gemstone! Dozens and dozens of these "ruby" beads are strung on multiple strands, punctuated by pavé crystal rondel beads, creating a sumptuous statement. Note that even the clasp is worth displaying— it can be worn in the back or showing to the side. Circa late 1970s/early 1980s, Ciner jewelry from this era is highly collectible and often fetches prices well into in the four-figures. Typically Ciner jewelry was made with the best quality crystals, faceted to shine like real diamonds. It is signed CINER on the clasp, and closes with a hidden box clasp for a seamless look. Measures about 17" long.
