Vintage Eyelet Two-Piece Column Dress Set With Matching Cropped Blouse
Vintage Eyelet Two-Piece Column Dress Set With Matching Cropped Blouse
This vintage two-piece eyelet column dress comes with an overblouse, but it can also be worn without, for two distinct looks in one. With its divine cornflower blue color, it would make the perfect "Something Blue" for brides-to-be. Made in the 1970s, it is a lovely linen-blend fabric, with beautiful embroidery and Broderie anglaise cutwork creating a timeless, romantic look. I love that it has a true column shape, with a fitted bodice on the dress. It features a double layer of fabric at the bodice, which in my opinion makes it very friendly to wear bra-less even without the matching blouse, as it offers support and prevents sheerness. On the top, the scalloped hem mimics the eyelet design. It's so beautifully made, with crochet lace appliqué at the neckline, and slight puffed sleeves, with tulle underneath to support the shape. There is a grosgrain belt at the waist, with a hidden hook to fasten in the back. There are so many ways to mix and match these pieces separately— I love that the overblouse looks like it's part of the dress when they're worn together, but the dress is also fully complete without it, and the blouse could even be worn with jeans!
The Vintage Earrings pictured are also available.
Great vintage condition, with some very minor wear commensurate with age, including very faint discoloration at the underarms, which is not visible when worn, and it presents beautifully.
