Vintage Kenneth Lane Art Deco Black Enamel Stud Earrings
Vintage Kenneth Lane Art Deco Black Enamel Stud Earrings
These vintage Kenneth Lane stud enamel earrings draw inspiration from classic Art Deco design, featuring an oversized crystal in a black enamel bezel. They were made by Kenneth Lane, perhaps the single most famous costume jewelry house, and are a wonderful example of his signature craftsmanship. Kenneth Lane got his start in the jewelry business in 1963, after working as a shoe designer for Christian Dior, and with the designer Hattie Carnegie. He looked to fine jewelers like Tiffany & Co. and Cartier for inspiration, and was made famous by celebrity clients like Audrey Hepburn and Elizabeth Taylor. They fasten with a clip-on lever clasp and are extremely lightweight and comfortable; vintage clip-ons are so much more comfortable and secure to wear compared to their modern counterparts, largely due to the quality and thought that went into their hand-made construction. Signed "Kenneth Lane" and measures about 24 mm diameter.
The Vintage 1980s Fortuny-Pleated Micro-Minidress pictured is also available.
