Vintage Manuel Canovas Floral Print Pareo/Scarf
Vintage Manuel Canovas Floral Print Pareo/Scarf
This vintage floral print pareo/scarf is a rare example of a *wearable* piece famed French textile designer Manuel Canovas. "He founded his namesake textile house in 1963, debuting with a collection of large-scale prints and audacious color combinations that took a bold pivot from the comparatively hushed designs of the time," reads an Architectural Digest tribute to his legacy. Yardage of vintage fabric Manuel Canovas fabric can go for over $1,000/yard. This large scale floral print just epitomizes his sensibility. The colors are just divine, and it's made of 100% cotton voile, which I much prefer in pareos to synthetics. It can easily be worn as a scarf, and there are so many different ways to tie it/style it. It was made in France in the 1980s/early 1990s and originally purchased from a boutique in St. Barts. The size is very generous, at 55x57". 100% cotton.
