This vintage 90s Max Mara suit was made in Italy with the most exceptional craftsmanship, of a really luxurious silk and linen blend fabric, in a grape hue. The fibers give it an iridescent quality that looks so rich. The natural, breathable fibers prevent you from overheating and mean this is wearable year-round, including in hot weather— rare for suiting! The double-breasted jacket is fully lined in silk and has the most incredible shape, with pockets at the hips and a single pocket at the chest. The details really speak to the quality, including pick stitching between the notches on the lapels, done by hand to help retain its shape. The shape is such that it looks equally amazing worn fully fastened, or open— I often find that double-breasted jackets don't look great worn open, but this one is a strong exception, thanks to its thoughtful design. The trousers feature the perfect relaxed fit, complete with a high waist, pockets at the hips, and a single pocket on one backside. They are unlined, maintaining that maximum comfort and breathability. Each piece is complete with button details, subtly branded "Max Mara."
Measurements: In my opinion, this will best fit a size X-Small and Small, depending on desired fit, but please refer to below measurements to be sure. The pants are marked a size 6 but in my opinion they fit smaller; jacket does not have size tag. Shown unpinned on a size X-Small.
Jacket: (*measurements taken with jacket fully fastened)
Shoulders: 15" (laid flat between shoulder seams, horizontally)
Chest: just shy of 37" (fully fastened)
Waist: 32.5"
Length: about 25" shoulder to hem
Sleeves: 23.5"
Pants:
Waist: 27.5"
Hips: up to 42" (not meant to be fitted across hips)
Rise: 12.5"
Inseam: 30", about 2" in hem to let out if needed
Great vintage condition; mostly appears unworn and presents as pristine. Freshly professionally drycleaned and ready to wear. Note that one of the cuffs on the jacket is missing 2 buttons, but it's been subtly stitched to stay in place there. You could also move one button from the other side so it's even, or replace the buttons altogether, but it is very much not noticeable when worn and does not effect the presentation of the piece whatsoever/is very wearable without any fixes. With any questions about the specific condition or size, please email shop@verybreezy.com for additional photos or measurements, as all sales are final.
