VINTAGE MIDCENTURY LIPSTICK HOLDER MIRRORED COMPACT

Vintage lipstick holders are for me the most amazing representation of how much thought, design, and craftsmanship went into everyday objects in eras past. Often mistaken for rings, lipstick holders like this one have a mirror that flips upon, making it easy to find your lipstick in your bag, AND apply it seamlessly with a mirror— what seems like a relic of the past is really quite useful in the present day. This lipstick holder was made (circa 1960s) by Stratton, a Birmingham, England based firm specialized in making high quality powder compacts, lipstick holders, and other accessories for cosmetics. It is shown here with two different lipsticks/lipglosses, both about 16 mm diameter; will work best with a lipstick tube that isn't super fat. The decorative case measures 6 cm long x about 3 cm wide.
