Vintage Mother Of Pearl Gold Disc Earrings, attributed to LES BERNARD
Vintage Mother Of Pearl Gold Disc Earrings, attributed to LES BERNARD
This vintage earrings made a sleek statement, with a hammered gold disc shape, and a mother of pearl lucite detail imitating a bulbous shell found in nature. They are not signed but Les Bernard made this earring in the 1980s. Les Bernard was founded in 1963, and is considered a pioneer in the field of high quality costume jewelry, creating designs that went on to influence the runway jewelry at houses like Yves Saint Laurent and Givenchy. They fasten with a clip-on lever back, and despite their size, these earrings are lightweight and comfortable; vintage clip-ons are so much more comfortable and secure to wear compared to their modern counterparts, largely due to the quality and thought that went into their hand-made construction. Measures 48 mm total length x 36 mm at widest point.
