This vintage two-piece skirt set was made in the 1980s by Oscar de la Renta's "Miss O" label. The gorgeous silk charmeuse fabric has a large scale floral pattern, with variations in the sheen creating dimension that catches the light beautifully and almost creates another overlay of pattern. Worn together, these pieces have the effect of a blouson dress, with a 1920s-flapper-inspired silhouette. The blouse has puff sleeves, with light tulle under the shoulders to create volume, and a gathered, slightly elastic hem creating that blouson effect. The skirt has a high waist, with knife pleats starting at the hips, creating a drop-waist, mermaid-esque look. This piece is full of thoughtful design details, like French seams on interior, and a chiffon lining at chest, which makes it more friendly for wearing without a bra.
