These vintage oversized flower studs are an ideal manifestation of what I like to call "dopamine dressing": bright, happy, and whimsical. Made by jewelry house Maresco in the early 1980s, they feature large daisy flowers, rendered with lifelike precision with etched petals, centering upon a glass rose-quartz colored cabochon. The Maresco jewelry brand was founded in New York in the 1970s by descendants of the the renowned dynasty of Italian jewelers Maresca, which dates back to the 19th century, found in Ariano Irpino in the Campania region. They are signed "Maresco" and finished with a clip-on lever back; vintage clip-ons are so much more comfortable and secure to wear compared to their modern counterparts, largely due to the quality and thought that went into their hand-made construction.
