Vintage Steven Stolman Embroidered Silk Cocktail Dress
Vintage Steven Stolman Embroidered Silk Cocktail Dress
Circa 1990s, this vintage Steven Solman dress has a whimsical rose embroidery on pure silk which I just adore. After graduating from Parsons School of Design (my own alma mater!) Steven Stolman worked in the New York fashion world for years before starting his own eponymous label, going on to become a cult favorite with boutiques around the country in Southampton, Palm Beach, Beverly Hills, and more. He has since transitioned to a focus on interior design, becoming the president of Scalamandre in 2011. This dress has a hidden corset-like bodice, complete with boning, and an overall very unique, 1960s-inspired silhouette. It's fitted through the chest, but meant to fit like a shift dress through the waist and hips. The grosgrain ribbon at the neckline ties into a bow for a sweet finishing touch. Made in the USA of 100% silk, fully lined; closes with a zipper in the back. The Vintage Art Deco Style Pearl Choker Collar Necklace pictured is also available.
