Vintage Thierry Mugler Spring 1996 Silk Glen Plaid Skirt Suit

This iconic vintage Thierry Mugler Spring 1996 silk Glen Plaid skirt suit walked the runway of the Spring 1996 collection, modeled by supermodel Karen Mulder, and has been worn by style icons like Kendall Jenner. It's crafted of 100% silk, with 100% silk lining, making it a very special addition to any Mugler collection, as it's extremely rare to find a Mugler suit in a silk fabrication. The incredible tailoring is exemplary of Thierry Mugler's work. In keeping with the iconic Mugler silhouette, the jacket is sculpted with a nipped waist, to create a flattering hourglass shape that emphasizes the figure. The jacket has a sloped shoulder with a dropped armhole, further highlighting that hourglass shape— if you look at the seams, you can see how insanely specific the tailoring is, with a shape that's slightly longer in the back. Thoughtful down to the last detail, the jacket features tiny pockets in the peplum. With all of these seams, the Glen Plaid (or "Prince of Wales check") check pattern is somehow mirrored with scrupulous symmetry. The skirt has shaping seams at the waist that make it fit flawlessly. Fabric-covered snaps close the jacket.

Measurements: This will likely fit a size Medium, but please refer to below measurements to be sure. Both pieces are marked a French size 42, but please note that it runs small.
