Antique Edwardian Ribbon-Tie Blouse With Hand-Embroidery, circa 1900
Antique Edwardian Ribbon-Tie Blouse With Hand-Embroidery, circa 1900
This antique Edwardian blouse is what dreams are made of. It is crafted from the most gorgeous ivory cotton, with cream-toned embroidery done by hand. This is a genuine antique blouse (circa 1900); I sourced antique French lace ribbon separately and added the ties to give it a closure. The dropped shoulders and top-heavy bodice give it that iconic "pigeon-breasted" silhouette they Edwardians favored. i love the pintucking throughout the bodice. This is such a special, one-of-a-kind piece, and would make for an amazing bridal look. It could be worn as more of a jacket over something rather than as a top.
The Vintage 1950s Tiered Petticoat Skirt and Vintage Pearl-Set Baroque Revival Drop Earrings pictured are also available.
Measurements: The sizing is flexibly depending on how you'd like it to fit, and the ribbon ties are adjustable. It could be worn as more of a jacket over something rather than as a top. Depending on these factors it would likely fit a size X-Small, Small, and possibly Medium.
Shoulders: 16.25" between shoulder seams (actual shoulders are dropped)
Chest: 38.5" laid flat
Waist: adjustable with ties; measures about 26" with it tied as shown, can be tied tighter up to about 24", or made looser
Length: 15" from shoulder to hem
Overall it's in great antique condition; note that these antique pieces are not without their imperfections, as this piece is about 120 years old. There is some minor loss to the embroidery, which reads like it's part of the pattern, and there is a tiny pinhole in the bad (literally the size of a pin's head).
