Vintage 1950s Princess-Cut Beaded Gown With Bustled Skirt
Vintage 1950s Princess-Cut Beaded Gown With Bustled Skirt
This vintage 1950s bridal dress is truly remarkable and so special— it reminds me of a dress Audrey Hepburn would have worn in the 1950s. The shape of the dress and construction are unbelievable, with boning on the sides of the bodice creating a fitted corset-like shape. The bustled shape of the skirt is so unique— it's gathered along the seams of the embellished front panel towards the hem, making the front part shorter (which is also very convenient for ease of movement.) These is curved boning in the hem's front panel to create the perfect shape.
The Vintage 1950s Diamanté Botanical Earrings pictured are also available.
Good overall vintage condition; this is a truly remarkable one of a kind dress, there are some slight imperfections that don't detract from its beauty. At the moment I am selling this dress as-is; there is a possibility that I would repair the loss to the embellishment (see below) at some point, and the price will increase to reflect time and money spent, so now is a good opportunity to purchase if these issues don't bother you. Some of the embellishment is missing from the panel of embroidery, but the effect created (where elements are missing) almost just looks like embroidery that was intentionally placed there, so it's not noticeable unless you're looking for it. The panel has some slight discoloration but it's fairly even throughout the panel, so again, it feels somewhat intentional. Some minor seam separation and wear, as well as a snag in the lining (not visible from exterior).
