This vintage 1970s Zandra Rhodes silk faille skirt is such a wearable example of the British designer’s iconic work, calling to mind the iconic style of Carolyn Bessette Kennedy, with interesting design details, a sleek, streamlined silhouette, and exceptional quality. Dubbed the “Princess of Punk" by the fashion press, Rhodes opened her own shop in London in 1969 and was known for her avant-garde style and work with exceptional fine textiles, paving the way for a new wave of envelope-pushing British designers, like Vivienne Westwood. The skirt features a slightly pegged shape, with an ultra wide waistband, and a silhouette that tapers slightly towards the hem. In the back, the subtle fishtail kick pleat detail elevates the look– and allows you to move freely! There are very distinct buttons at the waist, and pockets! The coordinating Vintage 1970s Zandra Rhodes silk blouse from the same collection is also available.
Measurements: As-is, this will best fit a size X-Small, Small, or possibly Medium. The skirt was let out along the side seam as some point, and it could be taken back in following those same seam lines (you can’t tell this has been altered unless you inspect very closely). It is shown unpinned on a size X-Small and it is slightly large through the waistband, but works through the hips.
Waist: 29-29.5"
Hips: 37.5-38.5" (see above note)
Length: 35.25" front hem, fishtail hangs lower
